Urban Universities for HEALTH (Health Equity through Alignment, Leadership, and Transformation of the Health workforce) – a partnership between APLU, the Coalition of Urban Serving Universities (USU), and the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) created with funding from the National Institutes of Health – has developed an interactive, web-based toolkit to help universities better develop a more diverse and culturally competent health and biomedical research workforce. Last night, APLU held a Capitol Hill reception showcasing its Challenge of Change report – which mapped out comprehensive actions public research universities can make to help meet global food needs by 2050. The report also underscored the importance of federal leadership in achieving global food and nutrition security.
APLU's Board on Agriculture Assembly Academic Programs Section today named 11 winners of its 2017 Innovative Teaching Award. In its fourth year, the awards are intended to bolster innovation in the post-secondary teaching of agriculture and related fields.
